1. How did you first learn about Compassion Corps?

Through MPC’s (Media Presbyterian Church) website…boring, I know! But I was seeking to get involved and serve and luckily (as the Lord would have it), I found Compassion Corps.

2. What made you want to get involved originally?

The overwhelming heart and passion behind the mission

3. What is your role on staff?

Development Associate…. I just help out wherever I can 🙂

4. What has been your favorite aspect of/favorite memory during your experience working with Compassion Corps?

Short term service trips and the time spent together with staff and volunteers, whether during meetings, working on certain projects or on trips

5. What is the hardest part about being a Compassion Corps volunteer?

Wanting to do so much with so little :/

6. Which project/s do you feel particularly strongly about? Why?

I love helping to plan and put on the Orphan Day 5K (previously known as the 5k2kare4kids) because it is something little that anyone can do to help in a big way and to make a big difference for children in need.

7. If you could describe Compassion Corps in one word, what would it be?

Committed!

8. What is one interesting fact about you?

I grew up on an island.

9. Have you been overseas with Compassion Corps?  To what country(ies)?  What lasting memory do you have?

Yes, Haiti and Morocco. The memories are endless…love, encouragement, strength, hope, and unity between different people.

10. If there is one thing that you could say to others about why or how they might become involved, what would you say?

Just DO IT… any way that you can! 🙂

*Note: Lexie and the 5K team are currently in the process of planning this fall’s Orphan Day 5K to take place at Ridley Creek State Park on October 25th. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details coming soon!
