This post is from the journal of staff member, Lori Sheppard…
At the start of the week I was able to return to the mountains and do some training out in the village that I had visited when the team first arrived (3 weeks ago!!). I got off to a hectic start as I was trying to help support my host family as they dealt with a medical emergency. But this was no problem- I have prayed to be able to be a help to people, and was thankful to be given the opportunity. Once all was well (one more example of His faithfulness!), the focus was on training. It was a sweet time to give insight and practical suggestions, but also to just be with these women and laugh with them. They are dear people!!
The rest of the week has been spent with another couple; they are dear to my heart, and to the heart of Compassion Corps. They are in the midst of battling some negative people and difficult situations, but it has been a privilege to be with them and pray for them.
I am getting ready to travel north to the Mediterranean coast this weekend. It promises to be a beautiful, if not nerve-wracking drive along mountain roads. Looking forward to being in a clinic all next week!!!
