In December of 2013, Jan Bean, cofounder and CEO of Compassion Corps, graduated from Eastern University with a Masters degree in Nonprofit Management. After many months and much dedication to study, research and field work, she developed her “Capstone” project – a paper that is essentially a proposed outline for Compassion Corps’ future. Right now excitement is rippling through Lofa and Nimba counties in north Liberia as farmers rush to harvest their coffee – a product for which they’ve had no market in many years. Week 9 has come to a close. It has been a great week, with busy times as well as sweet times of reflection and conversation.
The week began with two days of training in a little town north of Rabat (also on the coast). It was full of fun, laughter and lots of good questions/training opportunities. The center just has an air of playfulness-with the kids, the ladies and the parents. We had a blast. [..]
