Student Sponsorship Opportunities</br> in Liberia & Uganda

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. (William Butler Yeats)

Did you know that, according to UNESCO, there are 32 million primary aged children who are not in school in Sub Saharan Africa? Or that there are 47 million youths (15-24) who are illiterate? And that more than 1 in 3 adults cannot read?

These are staggering statistics, but true! Here at Compassion Corps we want to do our part to lower those numbers and continue the fight on illiteracy.

Our student sponsorship program is aimed at those children, boys and girls equally, who live in situations that do not allow them to attend school. Perhaps they have been abandoned or orphaned. Some are living with other relatives who can barely care for their own families. Still others spend their days begging to provide the food that their family needs just to eat that day.

We have about 100 students throughout Liberia and 35 students in Uganda that are among our first students slated for sponsorship.

A $30/month donation ($360/year) will pay registration fees, government school taxes, required uniforms, and support teacher salaries as well as provide a hot lunch for students before they leave school each day. For some it will be their only meal for the day.

Our sponsorship program will be up and running very soon, but if you would like to start immediately, please fill out the comment form below and someone will be in contact with you right away.
